Teen Braces, traditional metal braces or Invisalign?

Some pros and cons of both metal braces and Invisalign.

Metal Braces Pros:
Shorter treatment duration for closing gaps and aligning teeth;
Lower overall investment.
Flossing teeth is challenging which may lead to tooth decay under brackets or between teeth;
Brackets and wires may cause discomfort, pain and mouth sores;
Possible plaque buildup, tooth discoloration and difficulty eating;
Give up some fav foods

Invisalign Pros:
Virtually invisible appearance;
Freedom to eat their favorite food;
Easier to clean and floss teeth because aligners are removable;
More comfortable than metal braces.
Wear aligners for a minimum of 20-22 hours per day, even when they feel soreness from shifting teeth;
Aligners can get lost or forgotten during the day;
Duration may be longer than traditional metal braces if your teen isn't wearing the aligners consistently.

Our dentist and orthodontist believe that each patient's needs are unique and therefore requires a personalized treatment plan.
